The Nintendo melodies of Mandatory Pop are an early glimpse of Jaguardini’s approach: try things out, follow the sounds, and leave room for a joke. Since then, the catalog has grown to include darkwave records, scores for silent horror films and Christmas songs interrupted by airhorns.
Along the way, the records have become a place to look back, too. Obscene remembers the venues and bands met on tour, while Temper follows a much more personal stretch of writing with Mickey Sharp through alcohol recovery.
